1. What is DX 230 Desktop Modem with WiFi?
DX-230 Desktop Modem with WiFi is the high performance desktop modem that supports Internet access and advanced WiFi to allow multiple user sharing and voice service.
 
2. What are the differences between the DV-230 Desktop Modem and the DX-230 Desktop Modem?
The DV-230 comes with an external USB WiFi adaptor to enable connection sharing. Hence, an external WiFi router is not needed when using DV-230. In addition, the DV-230 is voice ready. The DX-230 comes with an integrated WiFi that supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n standards. The DX-230 also has two LAN ports as well as two voice ports. Overall, DX-230 provides better WiFi performance at your home or office and supports more connectivity choices via the additional LAN and Voice ports.
 
3. What are the contents in the DX-230 package?
The modem package contains the DX-230 Desktop Modem, power adapter, a LAN cable, and a quick user guide manual.
 
4. What is the voice port for?
The DX-230 Desktop Modem is voice ready. The phone port supports up to two normal phone connections.
 
5. What is the WiFi specification on DX-230 Desktop Modem?
The DX-230 is compatible with IEEE 802.11 b/g/n standards.

No, the DX-230 must be powered by the supplied power adaptor.

The DX-230 WiFi connection can support up to 20 meters in open areas depending on environmental factors (e.g. walls, location of the WiFi-enabled computers, etc).

Depending on the P1 W1MAX package you¡¯re on, the Internet connection can be shared between 2 to 8 computers. The higher speed package you subscribe to, the more people can share the same Internet connection.
 
9. What networking features does DX-230 support?
The DX-230 supports Port Forwarding, Dynamic Domain Name Service (DDNS), DHCP IP Configuration, and WiFi configuration.
 
10. How do I access the DX-230 configuration page?
Open any internet browser on your computer and key in the URL http://10.1.1.254. The DX-230 web-based login page will appear. The default login username is admin and login password is admin123. Users can change the default login password after successful login.
 
11. How can I secure my WiFi connection on the DX-230?
You can change your SSID and WEP key.
 
12. Where can I change the WiFi SSID and WEP key?
You can change the WiFi SSID and WEP key at http://10.1.1.254. The DX-230 web-based login page will appear. The default login username is admin and login password is admin123. Users can change the default WiFi SSID and the default WEP Key.
 
13. Does the DX-230 support other WiFi security modes?
Yes. The DX-230 can support WPA, WPA2, WPA-PSK and more.
 
14. How do I optimize my WiFi connection speed?

15. How do I reset the DX-230 to factory default settings?
The side of the modem has a reset button. You need to use a small pin to hold the reset button about 10 seconds before taking out your pin. The DX-230 will auto restart itself after this.
 
16. All the 3 LEDs on my DX-230 are blinking continuously. What¡¯s wrong?
SP1 is currently upgrading the firmware on your DX-230. This upgrade usually takes about 5 minutes. Once the upgrade is complete, the DX-230 will restart itself. Don¡¯t worry, you can still surf the Internet during the firmware upgrade process. The modem will restart itself again after completing the update process.
 
17. I am an existing DS-300/DV-230 contract plan customer. I like the DX-230. Can I change my DS-300/DV-230 Desktop Modem to the DX-230 Desktop Modem?
Yes, you can! Existing P1 W1MAX customers with the DS-300/DV-230 can upgrade to DX-230 by purchasing a new unit at RM399 at the P1 P@ddock or P1TSTOP. The P1 P@ddock or P1TSTOP representative will transfer your service to the new DX-230 accordingly.
 
18. I am an existing Home Lite (Modem rental) plan customer. I like the DX-230 modem. Can I upgrade my DV-230 modem to the DX-230 modem?
Yes, you can do so by upgrading the plan to either Home Plus (Modem rental)/Home Pro (Modem Rental)/Office Standard (Modem rental) & Office Premium (Modem Rental). The P1 P@ddock or P1TSTOP representative will transfer your service to the DX-230 rental modem accordingly.
